As a photographer and audio-visual storyteller I am interested in contemporary debates. What can we believe? How can we find the common ground we need for a sustainable co-existance? In a world of confusing narratives, deceiving misinformation, and intentional disinformation, I am searching for a (universal) moral and ethical compass as guidance.
Today’s creativity is setting the course for tomorrow’s reality. How to think the inconceivable? How to break boundaries of imagination? My work tries to simplify complexities and focus on the big picture, being part documentary, part fiction, part vision; not journalism not art; neither plain photography stills nor moving pictures; both series and standalone images at once.
With a background in journalism my focus is on social and political issues: the interaction with our environment, the fabric of societies, the way we decide to connect, partition, and organize the world we live in.
My practice is generally project driven. A single image – as beautiful and strong it might be – is not my interest unless it fits into a sequence, framed by a narrative giving context. No story has value without context.
